“ Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it”
Proverbs 22:6

Philosophy- Early childhood development should be a time of fun, warmth, security, and exploring. These are also the years when language is mastered, independence grows, and their first friendships are made. We will contribute to all aspects of a child’s development: physical, cognitive, language, spiritual, social, and emotional. Our standards are high, we want your children to be ready for kindergarten. We will guide, stimulate, and encourage each child in carefully planned activities that will allow the child to develop at his/her own rate.

Enrollment requirements:
 1. Children must be at least 3 years old by September 30th to enroll.
 2. Classes are filled on a first-come/first-serve basis.
 3. If classes are full when a parent calls, the child’s name will be placed
     on the waiting list.
 4. Parents will receive a letter in the summer notifying them of the
     orientation dates.
 5. All children must be potty-trained.
 6. Applications and shot records must be on file before a child may attend.

Tuition and Fees:
 Registration fee----------------------------------------$30.00
Two days a week---------------------------------------$70.00  month
 Kindergarten readiness--------------------------------$95.00 month
Tuition is due by the 10th of each month to avoid late fees.

Tuition will be the same in our short months (December and May) to offset the cost of our programs and our months with five weeks. August tuition is always pro-rated.

Days and Hours of Operation: We will have classes Monday through
Friday. The school year will correspond with the public schools with
the exception of the start and ending of the school year. If public schools
are dismissed early or cancelled due to weather conditions, pre-school
will follow the same guidelines. Watch the local news for closings.

Scheduled days off:  September 5, September 19, October 10, November 23-25, December 19- January 3, January 16, February 20, March 20-24, April 14, April 28, May 12

Dress and Possessions: I encourage children to wear play clothes and
tennis shoes. When weather permits we will go outdoors for play or take
nature walks. Please make sure all of your child’s belongings have his/her
name on it.

Snacks and Birthdays: We ask that each child bring a box of snacks and
pre-sweetened Kool-Aid to be shared with the class. When snacks need
replenishing we will send a note home. Birthdays are a very special time for
preschoolers and I welcome parents to bring cupcakes and/or other
refreshments. I ask that you do notify me in advance so we may allot more
time for snacks.

Rewards and Discipline: Children will be supervised at all times. Good
behavior is encouraged by giving positive verbal rewards. We also give a
treasure once a week for good behavior (donations for the treasure box
will be graciously accepted). This reinforces a child’s good feeling about
his/her behavior and serves as an example to the other children. When
unpleasant behavior occurs we will ask that they stop and think about their
behavior. This enables the child to work at self-control. If a child is not
cooperating in a group listening session, the child will be seated by a teacher
and reminded of appropriate behavior. If unacceptable behavior continues the child will be removed from the group for a period of time-out. This time-out will be a time for the child to calm down, remember what behavior the teacher is asking for, and decide for him or herself when he/she is ready to rejoin the group with appropriate behavior.

Field Trips: As part of our curriculum we believe it is important to expose
the children to surroundings within our community. Parents will be notified in advance and are frequently asked to help provide transportation.

Health and Safety: Children who have fever should always be kept at
Home and not return to school for at least 24 hours after the fever has subsided.  If a child becomes ill at school, the parent will be notified
immediately. If a child has been exposed to a communicable disease
it will be posted to inform the parents.

Withdrawal: If a child needs to be withdrawn from preschool, two weeks
notice is required so that the vacancy can be filled by another child.
